SUAN CHA is an organic tea producer in the region of Chiang Rai in northern Thaïland.
This family tea garden is situated on the slopes of Doe Mae Salong and is owned by Guy and Miou, a french thaï couple. Guy is the director of the French Institute in Chiang Rai.
They are cultivating a premium organic green tea by using their own compost without any industrially produced fertilizer added. They also don’t use any insecticides or weed killers.
All the work is done in the traditional way, which guarantees the quality and exclusivity of SUAN CHA oolong tea.
Their tea is exclusively sold through the fair trade organization called SUAN THAI which is based in France in the region of Midi-Pyrénées.
I had the chance to follow all the process from the tea plantation to the finished product.
